Start with a bill you paid
In Expenses, tap + and enter the amount and title. Save it, open the expense and choose Split this expense. Add people, choose equal or custom shares, then confirm. Include yourself when part of the bill is yours.
See who still owes you
The People tab adds up each person’s pending shares. After a payment arrives, mark the corresponding share received. Note Split records payments; it does not collect or transfer money.
Send a reminder
Open a person and use the share action, Messages or WhatsApp. Review the text and choose where to send it. Your friend does not need Note Split or an account.
Choose your currency
Note Split uses one currency for all records. Choose it at first use or in Settings. Changing currency changes the label on existing numbers; it does not convert amounts or exchange rates. Keep your records in one currency.
Edit a split expense safely
In version 1.1, changing a title, date, category or note keeps all splits and received payments. Changing the amount of an unpaid expense asks you to reset its shares and split again. The amount is locked once a payment is recorded, to protect the repayment history.
Add the Home Screen widget
Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, choose Edit, then Add Widget. Search for Note Split and choose a size. The widget shows pending balances from this device.
Keep a copy of your records
Use Settings → Export all data (CSV) and save the file somewhere you control. CSV is a readable record, not a restorable app backup. Note Split stores data locally and does not provide account sync or an in-app restore service.
Something isn’t working?
Email support@moneybond.app with your Note Split version (shown in Settings), device model, iOS version and the steps that led to the issue. Remove names, phone numbers and private balances from screenshots before sharing them. Please keep the app installed while an issue is being investigated so your local records remain available.
